A beautiful website makeover for poet and educator
Suzanne Edison has kept a blog for awhile and the site was looking dated. She was looking for a fresh design and a site that would look great on any device. After a good discussion with her and a review of the existing site we recommended an elegant, spacious look and feel and a reorganization of her content. We found the structure of the old site a bit confusing. This can easily happen as content grows over time. Instead of having everything in your face on the home page, we include more white space, simplified navigation, and created entry points for her main website sections: writing, books, teaching, and blog posts. We chose one of my abstract paintings as the masthead background and home page featured image. It gives the site a cerebral feel, and conveys the thoughtful, sensitive nature of Suzanne’s work.
The end result makes it easier for visitors to understand her, what she offers, and reinforces the high quality of her content. We’re happy she’s happy:
“Just want to reiterate how happy I am with my website and what a joy it was to work with you. I’ve gotten lots of great comments on the site and I’m still kind of gaga over it.”
