Website modernization and makeover for an industry organization
Northwest Energy Efficiency Council’s previous site was built in Drupal. It served the energy efficiency organization well but was looking dated (it was pretty old). It wasn’t mobile responsive (looked lame on a smartphone). The Drupal 6 content management system it was running on was no longer supported. We maintain the site for NEEC and were growing nervous that one day the site just wouldn’t work anymore. We no longer had access to a Drupal expert to help us support the site. (They’re a rare breed, compared to WordPress experts.) And upgrading to the current version of Drupal was like starting over, at a very high cost.
Time to redesign and upgrade the Drupal site to WordPress
To create visual continuity for the organization we leveraged the clean visual design of their program Smart Buildings Center’s website. Site navigation was refined to make key content faster and easier to find. The old site’s content was migrated from Drupal into WordPress including blog posts and member profiles. That was a time saver!
So now NEEC has a solid, modern website that’s efficient to update and maintain going forward. It features a contemporary layout that adapts to mobile devices, a member directory, member profile pages, event calendar, email list signup and membership application form.
